Beyoncé endorses Kamala x President!
Houston, US, Oct 25 (EFE).-
Singer Beyoncé on Friday endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the next US presidency and urged Americans to vote for the Democrat to change the destiny of the country.
During a speech in the artist’s hometown of Houston less than two weeks out from the election, Beyoncé portrayed Harris as a figure who will cement the promise of “freedom” inscribed in the charter of the American nation.

“It’s time to sing a new song,” Beyoncé said. “Our generations of loved ones before us are whispering a prophecy, a quest, a calling, an anthem, our moment right now. It’s time for America to sing a new song.”
Before giving the vice president a hug, Beyoncé connected Harris’ candidacy with the fight for women’s rights in the US: “Those who are no longer physically with us, imagine all of their sacrifices. The sacrifices made so we can witness the strength of a woman standing in her power, reimagining what leadership is.”
“Imagine our daughters growing up seeing what’s possible with no ceilings, no limitations,” she continued. “We must vote, and we need you.”

The stadium, which can hold more than 20,000 people, was packed. Attendees were given electronic bracelets that lit up in the colors of the US flag and sprinkled lights on the stands and grass.
The crowd included people of all ages: families with small children, young college students, retirees. The night was filled with dancing and laughter, especially honoring African-American culture, which is deeply rooted in Houston, where more than 20 percent of the population is Black.

Harris has already made history by becoming the first African-American woman to be elected as a presidential candidate for one of the country’s two main parties, and if elected, her administration would mark milestones.
The rally focused on the consequences of the Supreme Court’s decision to revoke federal abortion protection. Harris insisted on her promise to restore access to this procedure nationwide if she becomes president and criticized the “hypocrisy” of conservative politicians who celebrated the Supreme Court’s decision that revoked abortion protection in 2021.
On stage, women and families directly affected by abortion restrictions in various conservative states spoke, including Ondrea, a woman who almost lost her life after giving birth prematurely to a baby who died “five minutes” after being born.
Harris reiterated that for every story we hear, there are thousands of stories that have not been heard and women who are” suffering in silence.”

The relationship between Beyoncé and the Democratic Party is not new. The singer gave her support in 2016 to the candidacy of Hillary Clinton, the first woman to be a presidential candidate for one of the two main US parties and who led a historic race against Trump.
The artist, winner of 32 Grammy awards, was also close to the government of former President Barack Obama. She sang at the two inauguration ceremonies of the Democrat, the first African-American president in the history of the country.
Beyoncé authorized the use of her song “Freedom” to the vice president’s campaign at the end of July and, since then, it has become an anthem for her candidacy.
Freedom is precisely the central theme of Harris’ campaign; the vice president describes her political commitment as a defense of the American freedoms that she says right has wanted to take away.
Also participating in the event was the Democratic candidate for the Senate from Texas, Collin Allred, as well as the country icon Willie Nelson and Beyoncé’s own mother, Tina Knowles. EFE
