Luka Modric out of Supercup!

Luka Modric will miss Real Madrid’s Supercup semifinal against RCD Mallorca on Thursday due to a viral infection, the club said in a statement.
The Croatian midfielder participated in Wednesday’s training session at the sports complex near the match venue. However, the health setback will force him out of the match to be played later today.
The club’s medical report did not specify the recovery timeframe or whether Modric could return for Sunday’s final against Barcelona, should Real Madrid reach that stage.
The statement simply noted that his condition is pending evolution.
Modric started in Monday’s Copa del Rey match against Deportiva Minera, where he scored a goal. He was expected to feature in the starting lineup against Mallorca, competing for a midfield spot alongside Eduardo Camavinga and Dani Ceballos.
