Benfica and Chelsea in Club World Cup!
Miami, United States, Jun 16 (EFE).-
Two Argentines, Angel Di Maria and Nicolas Otamendi, gave Boca Juniors a hard time in their FIFA Club World Cup debut Monday, scoring for Benfica the goals that overturned a 2-0 deficit and made it 2-2 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Boca Juniors were up 2-0 after 27 minutes thanks to goals from Uruguayan Miguel Merentiel and Argentine Rodrigo Battaglia, but Di Maria reduced the deficit from the penalty spot on the stroke of halftime and Otamendi equalized with a header in the 83rd minute with Benfica playing with 10 men.
Boca and Benfica are in Group C with Bayern Munich and Auckland City.

Chelsea delivered the goods against Los Angeles FC, securing a 2-0 victory in their first match at this FIFA Club World Cup with a beautiful goal from Pedro Neto and a goal from Enzo Fernandez.

More than two weeks after winning the Conference League title in Wroclaw against Real Betis, the Blues returned to action and posted a lackluster victory over the MLS side, a league that has yet to pick up a win in the two rounds of the tournament.

Inter Miami drew 0-0, the Seattle Sounders lost and Los Angeles FC were defeated on Monday, showing the world the gap between the American competition and the rest.
In the day’s last match, Brazil’s Flamengo beat Tunisia’s ES Tunis by a 2-0 score with goals from Giorgian de Arrascaeta half way through the first half and Luiz Araujo with 20 minutes to play. EFE em/lds
