“Serve for Change” Coalition Launched to Advocate for Latino Representation in New Jersey Government and Key Appointments

Trenton, N.J. –

Prominent statewide Latino organizations announced the creation of “Serve for Change,” a coalition to advocate for Latino representation within state government leadership and appointments.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Governor-Elect Sherrill and recognize the tremendous task she and her team have before them as they prepare to govern,” stated Arlene Quinones-Perez, General Counsel for Latina Civic. “We look forward to partnering with her and the Transition Team’s leadership to help identify talented and qualified Hispanic New Jerseyans who share the Governor-Elect’s vision to make life easier and more affordable for all of us in the Garden State.”

Serve for Change is a volunteer-led collaborative composed of the leadership of each member organization:

This is an ongoing collaboration, and more Latino organizations will continue to be included.

New Jersey’s Latino population accounts for about 22% of the state’s total population, and the mission of this group is to ensure at least equal representation in our state’s government by engaging proactively in the appointments process.
