This year, Congresswoman Nellie Pou (D) made history as the first Latina elected to represent New Jersey in the House of Representatives. Pou’s historic win emerges from years of work to recruit, train, and elect Latinas to public office throughout the state. The work doesn’t end here.  Latinas make-up just 5.6% of elected officials in New Jersey, it is up to us to continue to build the pipeline (2024 Status of Latinas in New Jersey Politics Report)
