ELLA Wins (Elections & Leadership Latina Academy)
This year, Congresswoman Nellie Pou (D) made history as the first Latina elected to represent New Jersey in the House of Representatives. Pou’s historic win emerges from years of work to recruit, train, and elect Latinas to public office throughout the state. The work doesn’t end here. Latinas make-up just 5.6% of elected officials in New Jersey, it is up to us to continue to build the pipeline (2024 Status of Latinas in New Jersey Politics Report)

ELLA Wins participants attend a half-day session that targets issues of particular interest to Latinas running for political office, followed by attending Ready to Run® NJ to learn about the nuts and bolts of working on a campaign.
