Paris, Aug 5 (EFE).-

Simone Biles was denied a fourth gold at the Paris Olympics on Monday, with Brazilian Rebeca Andrade and Italy’s Alice d’Amato winning the beam and floor finals, respectively, on the last day of the gymnastics events at the Bercy Arena.

Biles, had been looking to add two more golds to her three in Paris, but she fell during the beam to place fourth.

Alice d’Amato and Manila Esposito took gold and bronze respectively on a huge day for Italy, with China’s Zhou Yaqin taking the silver.

Later, in the floor final, Biles won her 11th Olympic medal by taking the silver behind Andrade – a poignant reversal of roles, the Brazilian so often falling short at previous Games behind the US superstar.

American Jordan Chiles took the bronze. EFE
