The 2025 Art of Being a Modern Latina!
DoubleTree hotel Fairfield, New Jersey.- By Oscar Alberto Quintana
This Latina gathering during women’s history month was another successful event put together by the crew of the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. As labels matter, the hashtag #SHCCNJ acronym, is the one associated with the only Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in this Garden state. In other words, a commerce machine led by a dynamic duo: one pilot engineer CEO Carlos Medina and his sidekick and Chairman banker Luis O. De LaHoz. The Hispanic chamber represents the aspirations of some 120,000 Hispanic business proprietors in New Jersey.

During the sold out breakfast there was a panel of seven powerful latinas on stage: Tanya Ramos, Isamar Avery, Vanessa Coppes, M. Teresa Ruiz, the NJ Senate Majority Leader; Jennifer Arrocho, Raven Santana and last but not least, the Mexican consul in New Brunswick, Mariana Díaz Nagore.

The chamber has a new important follower as we spotted ex-Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli in the crowded room. Jack is now a candidate to move to Drumthwacket, the official residence of the Governor of the State of New Jersey. Make sure you have registered to vote come election time, on Tuesday, November 4th!

The 2025 Art of Being a Modern Latina had many sponsors, some golden some silver, all working at the sold out pow wow! The next chamber’s signature event will take place on May 15, 2025. That one is a Health and Wellness Fair rolling out at the Park hotel at the Meadowlands, with the following address at 2 Meadowlands Plaza, East Rutherford, NJ 07075. Get your tickets as soon as possible as this health fair sells out way in advance. Visit the chamber’s page: www.shccnj.org or email Chloe Fernández: cfernandez@shccnj.org
