American singer Jon Bon Jovi helped persuade a woman who seemed ready to jump from a bridge Wednesday in Nashville to return to safety, according to local police.
The incident occurred on the Seigenthaler pedestrian bridge, which crosses the Cumberland River, according to a message published by the Nashville Police on social media platform X. Bon Jovi and a video production assistant were the ones to intervened.
The moment was captured in a video, initially published by police on YouTube, but later removed. The footage showed a woman in a blue shirt clinging to the railing of the bridge from the other side.
Bon Jovi and the production assistant were allegedly walking on the bridge when they noticed the situation. The assistant started the conversation with the woman, and Bon Jovi joined shortly after.
After the conversation, the woman turned to them and was helped back to safety, before receiving a hug from the music star.
Bon Jovi was on the bridge filming a music video for his song “The People’s House.” The bridge remained open to the public during filming.
