
Liverpool- Barça -Arsenal top Champions League ahead of knockout phase!

The league phase of the UEFA Champions League ended on Wednesday with Liverpool, Barcelona, Arsenal, Inter, Atletico, Leverkusen, Lille and Aston Villa qualifying directly to the next round.

Atalanta, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, AC Milan, PSV Eindhoven, PSG, Benfica, AS Monaco, Brest, Feyenoord, Juventus, Celtic, Manchester City, Sporting CP and Club Brugge will have to play a two-legged knockout tie for a spot.

Liverpool finished top of the group on Wednesday despite losing their perfect record with a 3-2 defeat at PSV Eindhoven.
The Reds scored twice in the first half through Cody Gakpo’s penalty and Harvey Elliott’s rebound.

Johan Bakayoko and Ismael Saibari equalized before Ricardo Pepi put the Dutch champions ahead.

Arsenal also booked their place in the last 16 with a 2-1 win at Girona thanks to goals from Jorginho and Ethan Nwaneri.
Atalanta missed out after a 2-2 draw at Barcelona on Wednesday. Yamal gave Barcelona the lead from close range two minutes after the break before Ederson equalized for Atalanta with a stunning shot from the edge of the area.

Defender Araujo restored Barca’s lead with a header from a corner. Atalanta’s Mario Pasalic equalized seven minutes later with a low shot.
2024 Champions Real Madrid beat Stade Brest 3-0. Rodrygo scored the first and last goals and Jude Bellingham netted the second after a clever pass from Lucas Vázquez.

Atletico Madrid also booked their place in the last 16 after a decisive 4-0 win over RB Salzburg on Wednesday, with Antoine Griezmann scoring twice.

Benfica secured their place in the playoffs with a 2-0 win at Juventus, who had already clinched their spot.
