Trump’s idea is “Ethnic Cleansing” says Malaysia
Tehran, Feb 6 (EFE).-
Iran condemned United States President Donald Trump’s idea Thursday of expelling Palestinians from Gaza, saying it would eliminate Palestine.
“The plan to cleanse Gaza and forcibly displace the Palestinian people is an extension of Israel’s calculated agenda to eliminate the Palestinian nation,” Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Baghaei said in a statement.

“The recent US declaration of seizing Gaza represents an unprecedented attack on the fundamental principles of international law and the United Nations Charter,” the diplomat said.
Baghaei called on the international community to reject Trump’s idea.
Trump sparked a storm of reactions around the world after saying, at a press conference in Washington with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, that in the Palestinian enclave “everything is demolished” and that the Gazans “would be delighted” to leave if they were given the opportunity to do so to a “nice place with nice borders.”

Since the end of January, after a ceasefire between Israel and the Islamist group Hamas came into effect, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have returned to the enclave.
Iran is one of the main allies of the Palestinian group Hamas and leads the so-called “Axis of Resistance,” the informal anti-Israeli alliance also formed by the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Houthis of Yemen. EFE jlr/lds
