Marina Chirakova Closes Rape case!

Copenhagen, Dec 12 (EFE).-

The Swedish prosecutor’s office announced on Thursday that it has closed the investigation into an alleged rape case allegedly involving Real Madrid player Kylian Mbappe.

The incident allegedly occurred in October at a Stockholm hotel, with Swedish media linking the case to the French national team player.

“During the course of the investigation, there has been a designated person suspected on reasonable grounds of rape and two cases of sexual assault, but my assessment is that the evidence is not sufficient to proceed and the investigation is therefore closed,” said senior prosecutor Marina Chirakova, who led the investigation.

“The designated person has not been notified of suspicion of a crime,” Chirakova said in a statement.

Neither this statement nor a prior one from October explicitly named Mbappe, though several Swedish outlets had reported his alleged involvement.

According to Swedish public broadcaster SVT and other local media, Mbappe was considered “reasonably suspected,” which is the lowest level of suspicion under Swedish law.

The incident allegedly occurred on Oct. 10 at a hotel in central Stockholm, where Mbappe was reportedly staying.

The player had spent two days in Stockholm in early October, taking advantage of some downtime, as he was not called up to the French national team due to a left hamstring injury.

During his visit, Mbappe reportedly visited restaurants and nightclubs with friends, according to Swedish media.

Local outlets also reported that Swedish police conducted a search operation at the hotel where Mbappe stayed, with footage of the search widely circulated.

At the time, Mbappe denied the allegations, calling them “fake news” and linking the reports to his ongoing legal dispute with his former club, Paris Saint-Germain.

“FAKE NEWS !!!! It’s becoming so predictable, on the eve of the hearing, as if by chance,” Mbappe posted on X, formerly Twitter.

In a recent interview with Canal Plus France, Mbappe reiterated that he was “never” concerned about the case and remained focused on his work. EFE
