La gobernadora Mikie Sherrill firm\u00f3 una nueva ley: A4745\/S420 (Wainstein<\/a>, Rodr\u00edguez<\/a>, McCoy<\/a>\/Stack, Mukherji)<\/a><\/strong>, que permite a los municipios ampliar los d\u00edas de voto anticipado en las elecciones locales de mayo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Mientras el presidente Trump intenta debilitar las elecciones y poner trabas al voto con su orden ejecutiva que es inconstitucional, nosotros vamos a tomar todas las medidas necesarias para proteger la integridad de nuestras elecciones y hacerlas m\u00e1s accesibles para el votante de Nueva Jersey\u201d, dijo la gobernadora Mikie Sherrill.<\/strong> \u201cEsta ley permitir\u00e1 que los municipios ampl\u00eden el voto anticipado y garantizar\u00e1 que las personas que viven en el Estado Jardin puedan hacer o\u00edr su voz a nivel local, donde estas decisiones afectan nuestros vecindarios, nuestras escuelas y nuestra vida diaria\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLa votaci\u00f3n anticipada no es un lujo, es una necesidad\u201d, dijo el asamble\u00edsta Larry Wainstein.<\/strong> No todas las personas trabajan de 9 a 5, de lunes a viernes. Al aumentar los d\u00edas para votar antes, le damos oportunidad para votar a m\u00e1s personas.  Gracias a la gobernadora por firmar esta importante ley. Esta legislaci\u00f3n autoriza a los municipios que tienen elecciones no partidistas en mayo a iniciar el voto anticipado ocho d\u00edas antes del d\u00eda de elecciones, ampliando el periodo de voto anticipado por cuatro d\u00edas m\u00e1s. Cabe mencionar que la jornada de votaci\u00f3n anticipada permanecer\u00e1 culminando su ciclo, dos d\u00edas antes del d\u00eda de elecciones. Esta ley otorga a los votantes siete d\u00edas para votar de modo anticipado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta ampliaci\u00f3n en el voto anticipado proporciona a los votantes m\u00e1s oportunidades para votar anticipadamente en las elecciones municipales no partidistas y acerca el periodo de voto anticipado de estas elecciones al periodo de las elecciones estatales y federales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta medida<\/a> llega tras la orden ejecutiva inconstitucional de la administraci\u00f3n Trump sobre el voto por correo. La orden instruye a las agencias federales a crear listas de votantes cuya ciudadan\u00eda haya sido verificada y exige que el Servicio Postal de Estados Unidos solo entregue boletas por correo a quienes est\u00e9n en listas de voto ausentes aprobados por el estado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
