Activistas del grupo ecologista ‘Extinction Rebellion’ ti\u00f1eron este s\u00e1bado de verde el Gran Canal de Venecia (norte de Italia) como parte de una protesta contra las “pol\u00edticas ecocidas” del Gobierno italiano y los efectos del cambio clim\u00e1tico, en el marco de las \u00faltimas jornadas de la COP30 en Bel\u00e9m, Brasil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La manifestaci\u00f3n, que cont\u00f3 con la participaci\u00f3n de la activista sueca Greta Thunberg, se enmarca dentro de una serie de acciones simult\u00e1neas en varias ciudades italianas bajo el lema “Detener el Ecocidio”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adem\u00e1s de Venecia, otras nueve ciudades italianas acogieron manifestaciones similares. En Tur\u00edn (norte) se ti\u00f1\u00f3 el r\u00edo Po en los Murazzi, en Bolonia (centro) el r\u00edo Reno en el Canal de las Molinas, en Mil\u00e1n (norte) la Darsena de los Navigli, en Parma (norte) el arroyo de Parma y en Taranto (sur) el r\u00edo Tara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Mientras el Gobierno italiano sigue bloqueando las medidas m\u00e1s ambiciosas, el mundo se enfrenta a un colapso clim\u00e1tico irreversible”, denunciaron los organizadores de la protesta en un comunicado, donde aclararon que la sustancia utilizada, la fluoresce\u00edna, es una sal no t\u00f3xica que desaparece r\u00e1pidamente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“La fluoresce\u00edna desaparecer\u00e1 en poco tiempo, pero los efectos del colapso clim\u00e1tico no”, escribieron los activistas en redes sociales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La protesta de este s\u00e1bado llega casi dos a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de una acci\u00f3n similar, en 2023, cuando Extinction Rebellion tambi\u00e9n ti\u00f1\u00f3 de verde el Gran Canal de Venecia para denunciar la inacci\u00f3n durante la COP28, bajo el lema “Mientras el gobierno habla, nosotros pendemos de un hilo”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En esta ocasi\u00f3n, los organizadores destacaron que, desde entonces, el planeta “ha alcanzado nuevos r\u00e9cords de temperatura, nuevos eventos clim\u00e1ticos extremos han causado m\u00e1s v\u00edctimas y generado da\u00f1os incalculables en todo el territorio”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Por su parte, el presidente de la regi\u00f3n del V\u00e9neto, Luca Zaia, critic\u00f3 la protesta y la calific\u00f3 como “un gesto que hiere la ciudad”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“No es con acciones vand\u00e1licas como se defiende el medio ambiente. Son gestos que da\u00f1an Venecia, obligan a intervenciones de restauraci\u00f3n y, parad\u00f3jicamente, generan contaminaci\u00f3n”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
