Este joven artesano ha convertido lo que empez\u00f3 como un simple pasatiempo en una forma de vida: crear esculturas que unen arte, memoria y conciencia ambiental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El v\u00ednculo de Paul con el oc\u00e9ano tiene ra\u00edces familiares. De ni\u00f1o acompa\u00f1aba a su abuela, tambi\u00e9n artesana, en largas caminatas por las playas. Ella recog\u00eda conchas, caracoles y objetos que luego se convert\u00edan en adornos. Primero selecciona el fragmento de madera que servir\u00e1 de base, luego lo corta, lo pule y empieza a darle forma. El lijado, confiesa, es la parte m\u00e1s ardua. Una vez lista la estructura, a\u00f1ade detalles con otros materiales reciclados como metal, pl\u00e1stico, piedras, cuerdas o espejos. Desde que inici\u00f3 este camino, ha elaborado entre 50 y 70 piezas, de las cuales m\u00e1s de la mitad ya se encuentran en nuevos hogares. Su taller es improvisado y comparte espacio con su hogar. Son fragmentos de vida convertidos en madera tallada: la fuerza del oc\u00e9ano, la memoria de su abuela y la necesidad de preservar el entorno.
