He visto c\u00f3mo se han reducido los salarios en los \u00faltimos diez a\u00f1os, por hacer lo mismo y con mayores riesgos&#8221;, dijo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Se estima que en Estados Unidos hay aproximadamente 3,6 millones de camioneros profesionales. Con 27 a\u00f1os de experiencia al volante con todo tipo de carga, el a\u00f1o pasado fue atropellado por un camionero que se qued\u00f3 dormido mientras conduc\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dedicado ahora a trabajo de oficina, como agente de cargas, dijo que en un solo a\u00f1o la paga pas\u00f3 de 900 d\u00f3lares por el transporte de una carga de arena, a 300 d\u00f3lares. No pueden tener un cami\u00f3n propio, son esclavos de un sistema que no les permite faltar o rechazar cargas. con este tipo de carga sin los papeles en regla, porque es un delito federal y una inspecci\u00f3n en la carretera puede resultar en p\u00e9rdida de la licencia y multas al conductor de entre 25.000 y 28.000 d\u00f3lares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El agotamiento extremo es otro problema com\u00fan de los camioneros, adem\u00e1s de las altas tasas de enfermedades relacionadas con el estilo de vida, como enfermedades card\u00edacas, diabetes y obesidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jaime Vaquera, mexicano radicado en Kermit (Texas), maneja unos 640 kil\u00f3metros por d\u00eda, los siete d\u00edas de la semana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Hay d\u00edas en que espero hasta 30 horas por la descarga, sin comer y sin que te paguen un centavo extra.
