Los 133 cardenales no consiguieron elegir a un nuevo papa despu\u00e9s de las dos votaciones celebradas en la ma\u00f1ana del jueves en la Capilla Sixtina y la del mi\u00e9rcoles al inicio del c\u00f3nclave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta vez, respecto al retraso de la primera fumata, el humo negro sali\u00f3 de la chimenea de la Sixtina a las 11.50 hora local (9.50 GMT) antes del horario previsto de las 12.00 hora local (10.00 GMT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Una fumata negra que sorprendi\u00f3 a las m\u00e1s de 10.000 personas que se hab\u00edan concentrado en la plaza de San Pedro en espera de las votaciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los 133 cardenales electores empezaron a votar alrededor de las 9.30 horas local (08.30 GMT) y como manda la constituci\u00f3n apost\u00f3lica que rige todo el proceso s\u00f3lo se queman las papeletas tras dos votaciones negativas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta tarde se espera otra fumata hacia las 19.00 (17.00 GMT), aunque en caso de que los cardenales se pongan de acuerdo en el primer escrutinio, el humo blanco podr\u00eda salir de la chimenea del tejado de la Capilla Sixtina en torno a las 17.00 horas (15.00 GMT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seg\u00fan la normativa vaticana, para ser elegido papa son necesarios dos tercios de los votos. Al ser 133 los cardenales electores, el elegido necesita, como m\u00ednimo, 89 votos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El fuerte retraso de este mi\u00e9rcoles se pudo deber a una larga meditaci\u00f3n antes del voto del cardenal Raniero Cantalamessa, pero tambi\u00e9n es necesario m\u00e1s tiempo para las votaciones ya que son 18 cardenales m\u00e1s que en el c\u00f3nclave en el que se eligi\u00f3 papa a Jorge Bergoglio y el 80 % de los purpurados no hab\u00eda nunca participado nunca en un c\u00f3nclave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
