salud cardiovascular aunque sea poco tiempo, y un nuevo estudio lo constata: entre 1,5 y 4 minutos diarios de subir escaleras o cargar la compra reducen el riesgo de enfermedades cardiovasculares a casi la mitad en las mujeres que no practican deporte con regularidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esta es una de las conclusiones de un estudio recogido este mi\u00e9rcoles en la revista British Journal of Sports Medicine, que pone el foco en lo que viene a llamarse actividad f\u00edsica vigorosa intermitente (VILPA, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s), es decir, breves episodios de actividad f\u00edsica intensa en la vida cotidiana, como coger peso o subir algunas escaleras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los investigadores han recurrido a 13.018 mujeres y 9.350 hombres (22.368 en total) de mediana edad (61 a\u00f1os de media) del Biobanco del Reino Unido que declararon no hacer ning\u00fan ejercicio de forma regular o solo dar un paseo recreativo una vez a la semana, y a otros 58.684 de la misma generaci\u00f3n que s\u00ed hac\u00edan ejercicio de forma regular o caminaban varias veces por semana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les colocaron un rastreador de la actividad f\u00edsica las 24 horas del d\u00eda durante una semana completa entre 2013 y 2015, e hicieron un seguimiento regular a su salud cardiovascular hasta finales de noviembre de 2022-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"366\" src=\"https:\/\/www.americanonewspaper.com\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/GGlSpanish-1-1-800x366.png\" alt=\"\" 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Recopilaron los datos de ingresos hospitalarios o fallecimientos por infarto de miocardio, ictus o insuficiencia card\u00edaca, lo que se conoce como eventos cardiovasculares graves (MACE, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-resultados\"><strong>Resultados<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>El resultado, para el grupo de 22.368 personas que no hab\u00edan realizado ejercicio, fue que a los 8 a\u00f1os 331 mujeres y 488 hombres sufrieron un infarto de miocardio o un ictus, desarrollaron insuficiencia card\u00edaca o fallecieron por enfermedad cardiovascular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En concreto, hubo 379 infartos de miocardio distintos (129 mujeres y 250 hombres); 215 casos de insuficiencia card\u00edaca (96 mujeres y 119 hombres); y 225 accidentes cerebrovasculares (106 mujeres y 119 hombres).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tras tener en cuenta los factores de riesgo potencialmente influyentes, como el estilo de vida, antecedentes, enfermedades coexistentes y origen \u00e9tnico, se observ\u00f3 una clara asociaci\u00f3n entre dosis de ejercicio VILPA y la reducci\u00f3n de riesgo en todos los MACE (infarto de miocardio, ictus o insuficiencia card\u00edaca).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La asociaci\u00f3n fue m\u00e1s significativa en las mujeres que en los hombres, y el hacer unos minutos de actividad VILPA repercuti\u00f3 en un riesgo menor de infarto de miocardio e insuficiencia card\u00edaca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image class=\"wp-element-caption\">Screenshot<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Las mujeres que realizaban una media diaria de 3,4 minutos de actividad VILPA, pero no hac\u00edan ning\u00fan otro ejercicio formal, ten\u00edan un 45 % menos de probabilidades de sufrir cualquier tipo de MACE, un 51 % menos de probabilidades de sufrir un infarto de miocardio y un 67 % menos de desarrollar insuficiencia card\u00edaca que aquellas que no hac\u00edan ning\u00fan ejercicio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-menor-impacto-en-los-hombres\"><strong>Menor impacto en los hombres<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Los hombres que practicaban una media de 5,6 minutos de actividad VILPA al d\u00eda, pero no hac\u00edan ejercicio formal, ten\u00edan un 16 % menos de probabilidades de sufrir alg\u00fan tipo de enfermedad MACE que los hombres que no practicaron nada, pero no se observaron asociaciones claras con los distintos tipos de MACE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Incluso cantidades menores ejercicio diario, de entre 1,2 y 1,6 minutos al d\u00eda, mostraron asociaciones con menores riesgos cardiovasculares para las mujeres: con un 30 % menos de riesgo de todos los MACE, y espec\u00edficamente, un 33 % menos de riesgo de infarto de miocardio, y un 40 % menos de riesgo de insuficiencia card\u00edaca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Una duraci\u00f3n m\u00ednima de 2,3 minutos\/d\u00eda de actividad VILPA para los hombres, sin embargo, correspond\u00eda solo a una reducci\u00f3n del 11 % del riesgo de todos los MACE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><a deportistas regulares, no se vieron diferencias importantes entre sexos en las asociaciones entre la actividad VILPA y la actividad f\u00edsica intensa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los autores reconocen que se trata de un estudio observacional, por lo que no se puede establecer la relaci\u00f3n causa-efecto, y admiten que solo transcurri\u00f3 una media de 5,5 a\u00f1os entre la medici\u00f3n de la actividad f\u00edsica y la recopilaci\u00f3n de datos cardiovasculares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No obstante, concluyen que la actividad VILPA puede ser &#8220;prometedora&#8221; en la prevenci\u00f3n de eventos cardiovasculares graves en mujeres que no pueden o no quieren hacer ejercicio f\u00edsico habitual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Y aunque los resultados fueron m\u00e1s contundentes en el caso de las mujeres, recomiendan que los hombres incorporen algo de actividad VILPA a sus rutinas diarias para reducir el riesgo de enfermedad
