Robert de Niro was the star of the Cannes Film Festival!
Cannes, France, May 13 (EFE).-
Robert de Niro was the star of the first red carpet of the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday, where he received the Honorary Palme d’Or.

De Niro arrived with his partner, film producer Tiffany Chen, and smiled as they walked down the red carpet leading to the Grand Théâtre Lumière.
The pair were one of the last to walk the carpet, followed by the crew of the festival’s opening film, the French “Partir un jour.”
The guests had started arriving almost two hours earlier, with the beautiful background music composed by Francis Lai for “Un homme et une femme” (1966), the film featured on the poster of the 78th edition of Cannes, with a double version of an embrace between its protagonists, Anouk Aimée and Jean-Louis Trintignant.
Jeremy Strong, one of the members of the official Cannes Competition jury, was one of the most eye-catching in his salmon pink tuxedo.

The jury president, Juliette Binoche, wore an original white outfit with trousers and a top covered by a headdress.
Meanwhile, Halle Berry, another member of the jury, had to switch her outfit choice due to Cannes updated dress code, as nudity and voluminous garments are not allowed.
“I had an amazing dress by Gupta to wear tonight, and I cannot wear it because the train’s too big,” she said.
Also on the carpet were Brazilian models Alessandra Ambrosio and Isabeli Fontana, filmmakers Quentin Tarantino and Sean Baker, who won the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2024 for Anora, F1 driver Carlos Sáinz, Spanish actress Rossy de Palma, American Julia Garner, and Italian Pierfrancesco Favino.EFE agf/dgp/ags
