Empowering Women.- By Lilian Mauro

The Women’s Leadership Summit, held at The College of New Jersey, brought together women leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals from diverse backgrounds for a powerful day of connection, learning, and empowerment. Sponsored in part by the NJ Small Business Development Center, the summit provided a space for women to share experiences, build networks, and develop tools for personal and professional success.

The event opened with remarks from Tammy Dieterich, Dean of TCNJ’s School of Business, who set the tone for the day with an inspiring call to action: to embrace growth, foster community, and empower one another. Dr. Moniquea Clark, founder of Agape Healing & Yoga Wellness Studio, led attendees in a grounding reflective exercise, encouraging everyone to start the day with intention.

The summit featured a series of impactful breakout sessions. Denise Fuchs, a certified life coach and motivational speaker, presented “Break Free: Unveiling 3 Secrets to Self-Sabotage, Embrace Self-Empowerment, and Manifest Your Dream Life!” Her session inspired participants to overcome self-limiting beliefs, fostering an atmosphere of self-discovery and empowerment. In another session, Triccia Ramos shared “The Key to Unlocking Internal Peace Amidst External Chaos,” guiding attendees in techniques for resilience and authenticity.

Keynote speaker Sylvia Baffour’s presentation, captivated the audience. Baffour, a renowned expert in emotional intelligence, emphasized the importance of self-awareness, empathy, and resilience in building both personal and professional success. Her insights on using emotional intelligence as a strategic asset resonated deeply, leaving attendees motivated to apply these concepts in their lives and careers.

Networking was also a core component of the event, with a lunch session that encouraged new connections through an interactive “Human Bingo” activity. Dr. Tamar Spitzer and Dr. Sandra Schwartz led an afternoon workshop on transforming stress into a source of power, offering participants tools to harness stress as a positive force in their leadership journeys.
