Another woman sues “P. Diddy” and bodyguard!

New York, US, Sept 24 (EFE).-

A woman sued rapper Sean “P. Diddy” Combs and his bodyguard on Tuesday in New York for raping her in 2001, videotaping the assault, and selling it as pornography, in the latest of a string of sexual assault complaints the musician has faced this year.

The lawsuit comes just a week after Diddy was charged by federal prosecutors with sex trafficking, human trafficking, and racketeering conspiracy.

Thalia Graves, who permitted the use of her name, alleged that she met Combs in 2001 when she was 25 through her partner who worked for the rapper’s record label.

She alleged that the musician offered her a glass of possibly adulterated wine that knocked her unconscious and she woke up naked and with her hands tied behind her back in a Manhattan studio where both Combs and his bodyguard, Joseph Sherman, raped her. She added that the rapper slammed her head against a pool table when she tried to resist.

“We are very proud of Thalia for speaking out today in order to help victims of rape and other acts of sexual violence against them,” the plaintiff’s attorney, Gloria Allred, said Tuesday at a press conference from Los Angeles.

Graves, visibly affected, read a statement in which she said that “the internal pain after being sexually assaulted has been incredibly deep and hard to put into words. It goes beyond just physical harm caused by and during the assault.”

“Some of the hardest parts of this pain are the shame and the guilt and an experience that plays a negative part in my day to day ability to function properly. Being blamed, questioned, and threatened has often made me feel worthless, isolated, and sometimes responsible for what happened to me,” she added.

The plaintiff said she has suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and sexual dysfunction since the alleged rape.

Allred said at the press conference that she is currently handling additional cases from other women who also want to sue Combs for sexual assault, and clarified that the newly filed charges are not related to the crimes of sex trafficking, human trafficking, and racketeering that Diddy is accused of by federal prosecutors.

The lawsuit was filed under New York City’s Victims of Gender Violence Act, which gives survivors of gender-based violence a two-year “look-back” window to file civil lawsuits against their abusers, even after the statute of limitations has expired. EFE
