Madrid, Apr 15 (EFE).- By Javier Picazo Feliu
‘Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’ will arrive on PlayStation 5 on Thursday with an epic adventure full of action, a script that pays homage to his best films, as well as heart-stopping cinematic graphics and gameplay worthy of the hero.

Much more than an adventure, the game puts players in the shoes of the archaeologist, perfectly portrayed by actor Harrison Ford to make the experience as realistic and immersive as possible.
The story, based on a script that could have been signed by Steven Spielberg himself, takes the player back to 1937, one year after the beginning of the saga with ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’.
The narrative is full of nods to the universe created by George Lucas in the 1980s, filled with humor, fast-paced action, mystery, Nazis and long-distance travel.
Jones will embark on a dangerous adventure to decipher a stolen artifact that will lead him to discover a supernatural force known as the Great Circle, which connects various archaeological sites around the world.

Without giving away too many plot details, which are best-discovered step by step as the game progresses, the action takes the player to Marshall University in the US, where the protagonist teaches, to follow a trail of clues that lead to Vatican City, Egypt, the ruins of Sukhothai in Thailand, or the icy peaks of the Himalayas.
On a fairly linear level, the player learns how to use ‘Indy’, use the controls, and understand the mechanics of the game by experiencing the iconic beginning of the saga in first person.
The protagonist begins his journey in a temple in the Peruvian jungle, where he must steal the mythical golden idol before setting off the traps that make a giant stone ball chase him in one of the most memorable moments in the history of cinema, which makes for an unforgettable experience while playing.

The game, developed by MachineGames and Bethesda, is technically impressive, with eye-catching spaces full of open-world details, lighting effects, glows, an outstanding color palette, and truly next-generation graphics.
After its successful run on the Xbox series, the game has only improved upon its arrival on Sony’s consoles, especially on the new PS5 Pro.
The mechanics are a bit choppy, with simple combat scenes and room for improvement in the use of artificial intelligence applied to Jones’ enemies.
Weapons, fists, the whip, and any object – no matter how ridiculous it may seem – can be used to defend yourself, while the scenarios are sometimes free and sometimes too passive, leaving no opportunity for investigation and discovery.
The puzzles are ingenious and very well developed in the purest Indiana Jones style, with aspects reminiscent of unique moments in the graphic adventures of the late 80s and early 90s, such as ‘The Last Crusade’ or ‘Fate of Atlantis’.
The scenery has a commendable level of detail, and the music works quite well thanks to its countless sound effects and melodies.
For their part, the cinematics deserve special mention, with an undeniable quality, even if they are sometimes excessive and break the rhythm.

‘Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’ is neither complicated nor overly demanding, as upgrading the main character, solving puzzles, getting rid of the Nazis, or finding the solution is relatively easy, making the game more like a first-person movie.
‘Indy’ fans will find the game they have been waiting for all their lives, and those who are not will enjoy a spectacular, fun, and exciting story that will take up to 30 hours to complete with all the achievements. EFE
