Tariff war between China and US!
Beijing, Apr 12 (EFE).-
The tariff hike from 84 percent to 125 percent on all products imported from the United States to China entered into force this Saturday, marking a new episode in the growing trade war between the world’s two largest economies.

The measure was announced on Friday by the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council, which justified it as a direct response to the latest levies approved by Washington, which raise the total tariffs applied to Chinese exports to 145 percent.
For its part, the Chinese finance ministry accused the US of “unilateral bullying and coercion” and said the move made no economic sense.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Friday that his country did not want a trade war, but did not fear it either, and demanded that Washington stop applying pressure and resolve tensions through dialogue.

According to Lin, Beijing’s countermeasures not only protect its own legitimate interests, but also safeguard the international order and the rights of all countries affected by US unilateralism. EFE
