Lille Olympique ended Real Madrid’s 14-match unbeaten streak in the Champions League with a 1-0 win thanks to a goal by American player Jonathan David.
The white club’s new superstar Kylian Mbappé did not come on until the second half due to a hamstring injury.
Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah set up one goal and scored the other in a 2-0 win over Bologna.
Alexis Mac Allister opened the scoring in the 11th minute from Salah’s close-range pass, and Salah completed with a second goal late in the second half.
In Germany, a ten-man Juventus twice came from behind to snatch a late victory from RB Leipzig in an emotional match.
Dušan Vlahović scored two goals for the Italians and Francisco Conceição netted the third. Benjamin Šeško scored twice for the Germans.
