Sports Desk, Jan 21 (EFE).-
Two goals from Julián Álvarez in the 75th and 89th minutes earned Atlético Madrid a 2-1 victory over Bayer Leverkusen at the Metropolitano stadium on Tuesday in the seventh round of the Champions League.
In the first half, Leverkusen scored at minute 46 with a header into the far corner, before the interval, but just when they thought that was it, Álvarez appeared to tie the match in minute 53 and then made it a 2-1 a minute before the end.

Meanwhile, in Estádio da Luz, Barcelona beat Benfica 5-4 in Lisbon on Tuesday, thanks to a 96th-minute goal from Raphinha, to secure a place in the last 16 of the Champions League after trailing 3-1 and 4-2 on Tuesday.
Benfica’s side opened the scoring within the first half with Vangelis Pavlidis after two minutes, before Robert Lewandowski equalized the game in minute 11.
Pavlidis restored Benfica’s lead with a goal in minute 22 and added one more right after in minute 30 with a 3-1. However, in minute 64 Raphinha put a goal on Barcelona’s side, making it a 3-2.

Benfica’s side continued scoring, this time with Ronald Araujo’s unfortunate own goal (minute 68) before Lewandowski scored a second goal with another penalty in minute 78.
Eric García tied the game, and then Raphinha gave Barcelona the victory and made it 4-5
Liverpool maintained their winning streak with a 2-1 victory over Lille to take 21 points from a possible 21 in the Champions League and confirm top spot in the group.

Mohamed Salah opened the scoring in the 34th minute, and Jonathan David equalized the game for the Lille, however, Harvey Elliott put Liverpool ahead in minute 67.
Despite having already qualified, Liverpool only made one change at the back, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson rested and Jarred Quansah starting alongside Virgil Van Dijk at the heart of the defense. EFE dgp/mcd
