2028 Olympic LA Games!

The Olympic flag landed Monday in Los Angeles, symbolizing the countdown to the city that in 2028 will host its history’s third Olympic Games.
City Mayor Karen Bass, waved the flag with the five Olympic rings upon her arrival at Los Angeles airport along with several American athletes, after collecting the baton of Olympic venue Sunday at the closing ceremony of the Paris Games.
“The Olympic Games have officially returned to Los Angeles,” Bass said in a statement, adding that the Californian metropolis is already working to organize an event that will match the success of Paris.
The Los Angeles mayor announced Saturday that one of the great feats for the city would be the expansion of the public transportation network to ensure “a Games without cars.”
Another challenge for the next four years is the homeless crisis that the city faces, with more than 75,000 people living outdoors, according to the latest data from the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority.
The capital of the state of California will become the third city in the world to host the Olympic Games three times, after the celebrations in 1932 and 1984.
The United States closed the Paris 2024 cycle leading the medal count with a total of 126 medals, 40 of them gold, the same as China, who came second with 91 medals. EFE
